The trek to Gokyo Ri is better known as Gokyo Ri Renjo La Pass trek, one of the highest settlements in the world. Better known as ‘Gokyo peak’ at 5357 meters, the peak lies at the west side of the Ngozumba glacier, the largest glacier of the Himalayas. This fairly popular trekking route is specially designed for adventurers eager to enjoy the spectacular beauty of the Everest ranges, while avoiding much of the physical stress.
Our route to getting to Gokyo Ri Renjola Pass start from a flight to Lukla from the capital ‘Kathmandu’. We first trek to ‘Namche Bazaar’, home of the legendary sherpas, it is one of the most frequented place of the Everest region. Therefore ‘Namche Bazaar’ boasts artistic monasteries and a unique lifestyle in its own rights. After acclimatizing at Namche Bazaar, we take a different route to Everest base camp following through Ngozumpa glacier, as stated above ‘the largest glacier of the Himalayas’, we pass through Machhermo Ri and finally reach our destination ‘Gokyo valley’. Our trail to Gokyo valley passes through lush green and equally colorful rhododendron forests and really interesting historic caves. These historic caves add much more adventure to your whole trekking experience. Our arrival at Gokyo is welcomed by a string of blue lakes; here you have a day of acclimatization. Next morning we walk to GokyoRi which is a fantastic spot to enjoy the stunning 360 degree views of the 8,000 meter high Himalayan peaks.
Gokyo Ri Renjo la Pass trek is only one of the ‘Everest region trekking’ packages that we offer-you may also take a look at other trekking packages that we have specially designed for Everest region and base camp.
