We have travelled many places around the world and prefer to use local companies. After some Internet searching I came across Skyline treks. They put together a great itinerary for us. We travelled for 5 weeks in Nepal including treking to Annapurna base camp, rafting the Seti river, Chitwan National Park, and most of the local attractions around Kathmandu, Pokhara, and everywhere in between. We had a fantastic experience.
We have travelled as a private group with local companies and with international travel companies before. I have to say I much prefer local companies and Skyline treks in no exception. What you gain by traveling with local groups is getting to know people including your guides, drivers, and many people along the way. There is a much greater interaction with local people that will enrich your trip. Having the same driver and guides, porters etc over many weeks allows good friendships to be formed and for a much more personal trip. Raj, the owner of the company took great care of us. When the going got tough on the abc trek with ice and snow, there was always a helping hand. We always had hot drinks shortly after arriving at the tea houses. Go and have a great adventure in Nepal with skyline treks if you haven't been or try them if you are returning. We would love to return in the future to see more of this charming country and friendly people.
