Marshyangdi River Rafting Overview
Marshyangdi River Rafting is considered as one of world’s best water rafting trips, Marshyangdi is raging at all times that exhilarates with magnificent mountains on the backdrop. It is highly recommended for expert kayakers and rafters, as the river itself is one the best class 4 kayaking rivers of the world. The 35 km rafting action lasts for up to 2 days and starts from ‘Bhul BHule’ which is only a few hours’ drive from Kathmandu. The scenery is magnificent with every bend of the river opening up fresh vistas of some of the world’s highest mountains, but these are behind-as someone said “great views but you need rear view mirrors”.
The challenging grade 4 to 5 – rapids begin on day one and are practically continuous to the take-out point, with steep, technical and thrilling rides through Himalayan scenery.

We have travelled many places around the world and prefer to use local companies. After some Internet searching I came across Skyline treks. They put together a great itinerary for us. We travelled for 5 weeks in Nepal including treking to Annapurna base camp, rafting the Seti river, Chitwan National Park, and most of the local attractions around Kathmandu, Pokhara, and everywhere in between. We had a fantastic experience.
We have travelled as a private group with local companies and with international travel companies before. I have to say I much prefer local companies and Skyline treks in no exception. What you gain by traveling with local groups is getting to know people including your guides, drivers, and many people along the way. There is a much greater interaction with local people that will enrich your trip. Having the same driver and guides, porters etc over many weeks allows good friendships to be formed and for a much more personal trip. Raj, the owner of the company took great care of us. When the going got tough on the abc trek with ice and snow, there was always a helping hand. We always had hot drinks shortly after arriving at the tea houses. Go and have a great adventure in Nepal with skyline treks if you haven't been or try them if you are returning. We would love to return in the future to see more of this charming country and friendly people.
